Training on Learning Outcomes

The Ministry of Education and Training will be delivering training on learning outcomes from October to December 1998. The training will be offered in various regions throughout the province.

One person per MET-recognized literacy delivery site will attend this training. Your agency will soon receive an invitation from MET with more information about dates, locations, and content.

Assessment Training

The Ontario Literacy Coalition has received funding to develop and deliver assessment training. The goal of this project is to develop a training program that will support agencies in assessing learning in the context of the LBS outcomes. This training will be provided in addition to the training from MET on learning outcomes.

OLC's project will identify the training needs of agencies in all delivery sectors and regions of the province. The project will also link closely with other organizations who have developed assessment materials and processes. The training will incorporate the newly written LBS outcomes.

OLC plans to develop the training in autumn 1998. It will be delivered in early 1999.
