Feature of the month | October 2008

Clear language is a way of presenting information so that everyone can understand it easily. Beyond words, clear language includes how information is organized, the tone and the graphics that go along with the words. The Clarity Kit (Parts 1-3) was developed by the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE). The tools in the kit were designed to be used co-operatively by both management and union advocates in Canadian municipalities.

The Clarity Kit: Effective Communication for Municipalities consists of three parts:

Developing a Strategy for Clear Language in Municipal Communications
Promoting Clear Communications in Your Municipality
Analyzing Municipal Communications: The Clarity Audit™
