Ontario’s Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities launched the Second Career website in June 2008 to help laid-off workers in Ontario identify and train for new careers in growing sectors. Recent enhancements to the program allow more laid-off workers to participate and take advantage of the training opportunities available in the province.
Second Career provides career planning and financial support specially designed to help laid-off Ontarians participate in long-term training for a new job. Career counsellors in Employment Ontario offices across the province are available to help potential participants take the first step.
