Feature of the month | May 2009

Human Resources and Skills Development Canada has created a comprehensive Literacy and Essential Skills Toolkit offering support to employees/learners, employers, practitioners and community groups.

The kit contains a series of free and easy-to-use tools which can be used to address various literacy and essential skills challenges affecting desired outcomes of many Canadians in the workplace.

Resources in the toolkit fall under the categories of Awareness, Assessment, Learning and Training. They include workplace case studies; motivational learner stories; skill indicators; a hiring checklist; and practical information and templates for building a skills passport and portfolio.
