So many ways to help
FESA is a growing organization and we would appreciate any help you can give. Whether you are a corporate donor, individual donor, community organization or would like to volunteer, there are many ways to help.
While we have been successful in attracting funds to develop curriculum,
we are currently focused on attracting funds to allow trainers to work
with local facilitators to implement LAPS programs where they are needed
across Canada.
Although we accept general donations, if you would like to contribute to a certain program, we have provided a list of our immediate program needs:
- The Books for Babies and Jumpstart programs are looking for funding. We are also hoping to make this a permanent program in the Calgary area. Short term and long term funding relationships are sought.
- We are expanding the A-LAPS program in Northern Alberta and Northern B.C. Funds are required for facilitators, trainers, program development and program materials.
- To support our Training and Leadership work we are hoping to have
a national conference for all LAPS facilitators and trainers so that
they can learn and benefit from each others' experiences. This will
also be an opportunity to keep our network of facilitators and trainers
current with the latest news and research on family literacy. Donations
towards making this goal possible would be greatly appreciated.
- Further funding is needed to support the implementation of all versions of LAPS where they are needed in Canada.
- We are planning to offer the "So, Where Are the Males?" program across the city of Calgary, and to hopefully offer it permanently. This expansion would benefit from cash donations to pay facilitators and trainers or from gifts in kind of supplies or space.
If you would like to designate your donation to one of the needs listed above or another program need please contact us via mail, telephone or email and we will ensure your donation is earmarked for that use.
Corporate donors
Our programs touch the lives of so many groups. We have found that we fit into many different corporate citizenship programs for that reason. In 2004, FESA began a new funding and community awareness initiative to support its expansion. If your organization would like to be part of this please Contact Us, or make a donation through Canada Helps.org. We also appreciate gifts in kind that could include but are not limited to: children's books, space for program delivery, printing services and volunteers.
Individual donors and volunteers
Individual donors are encouraged to make a donation to FESA through Canada
Helps.org. If you are interested in volunteering or would like to make a gift in kind donation please Contact
Us.
Community organizations
The expansion of our program delivery means that we are actively seeking new partnerships with local community agencies. If your organization would like to host or sponsor one of our programs or training sessions please Contact
Us. If you would like to make a donation to FESA you can do that through Canada
Helps.org.
