New to NALD/NALD@Work library: Conference Board of Canada case studies
The National Adult Literacy Database (NALD) is pleased to announce the posting of several workplace-related research documents from The Conference Board of Canada. The collection can be viewed in the NALD/NALD@Work library.
Among the documents, The Conference Board of Canada's organizational effectiveness and learning case study series examines outstanding programs and initiatives in specific Canadian workplaces. Learn how to set up, maintain and evaluate a workplace literacy and essential skills program by following the example of other Canadian companies. The case studies look at various aspects of successful workplace learning programs, including the programs' development, challenges, keys to success and benefits for both employees and employers.
An increasing number of workplaces in Canada are initiating education programs to enhance the skill levels of their employees. Many more would like to do so but lack the resources to get started.
The Conference Board of Canada strives to help leaders work together to develop a skilled and innovative society that will prepare Canadians for today's knowledge-based economy, said Alison Campbell, senior research associate with The Conference Board of Canada.
“Our new resource-sharing partnership with NALD takes this collaboration one step further,” she said. “It stands to benefit those who could use a helping hand in the current economic downturn.”
