CAMA to recognize excellence in municipal workplace literacy, learning
The Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) and the Literacy and Essential Skills in Municipal Workplaces Project will be presenting 2010 Awards of Excellence for Municipal Workplace Literacy and Learning Achievements at the annual CAMA conference in June.
The awards recognize and celebrate the achievements of municipal stakeholders, who have established workplace learning programs, and municipal learners. These programs have realized significant long-term impacts for their workers and workplace, their families and the community.
The award categories apply to workplace training in a variety of formats, literacy and essential skills and clear language. In addition, the categories include training formats for staff at all levels that touch on literacy and essential skills, e-learning initiatives or clear language.
Interested persons are asked to view the brochure and tips sheet that outline the five categories for the awards and the submission guidelines.
Submissions must show clear evidence of management and union collaboration (or collaboration involving other employee groups) in the initiative.
