The Literacy Council of South Temiskaming

Online learning

We have recently upgraded our computer lab and are now able to offer 10 computer workstations to our learners.  All stations have internet access and allow the learner to take online courses and participate in specific learning programs. The learner, at his own pace, can complete computer-based programs such as Microsoft Office 2007, Word 2010 or Excel.

We offer Aztec Software, a competency-based curriculum that provides interactive practice and testing for the learner with immediate feedback. This software offers programs in general mathematics, reading and Language Arts and allows both learner and staff to monitor progress of an individual education plan.

We have also purchased 2 new programs, one of which is called Skills Tutor and the other is Reading Horizons.
