Our New Logo

We’re pleased
to announce that the Learning Disabilities Association of Canada (LDAC) – our
national association – has launched a new logo which LDANL has now adapted
for provincial use.
Focus groups conducted by LDAC in 2005
indicated that the previous logo gave the impression that LDAC provided services
only for children. When asked what themes a new logo and slogan could
convey, participants in the consultation process were very consistent in
calling for a brand that conveyed three critical ideas:
- Collaboration – Many people working together to
support and accommodate
- Potential – Helping
people lift off and achieve
- Hope – Optimism,
aiming high and working with passion
This new brand identity succeeds on all three fronts.
- The name of the national association remains the same – LDAC is an
association of Canadians committed to a single focus – Learning Disabilities.
- The
icon conveys a sense of many people collaborating to support an individual;
though diverse (employers, educators, parents, etc.), they are united in
the task.
- The colours and the font of the new brand are clean,
fresh and optimistic. This is a modern, forward-looking design that conveys
how dynamic and innovative we are.
- The slogan pulls it all together. LDAC
works to protect the rights of people with LD to learn, while empowering
them – through support and accommodation – to achieve their
full potential as learners, employees and citizens.
The Learning Disabilities Association of Newfoundland and Labrador has chosen
October 2008 – LD Awareness Month in Canada – to launch its provincial
version of the new logo. Over the coming months you will begin to see it
on our letterhead, website, literature ... everywhere we have a presence.
