Cells

A workbook has many cells. You type numbers and letters (data) in cells.

Cell Names

The letters across the top of the worksheet A, B, C etc. are called column headings.

The numbers down the left side of the worksheet are called row headings.

Each cell has a name. The cell name is the column letter and the row number. When you click in a cell, you can see the cell name in the cell name box. Below you can see the cell is C2.
