Talk about these comfort measures with your labour support person.
Slow and Deep Breathing
- Take a deep, relaxing breath at the first of each contraction
- Continue slow, deep breathing
- Breathe out with a sigh
This will help you take your mind off the contractions.
Walking, Rocking and Kneeling
- Try moving in a rhythmic motion
- Stay upright and change positions
This will make you more comfortable and help your labour
advance.

- Bathing
- Showering
- Massage
- Soft music
- Hot or cold packs
