Hello, my name is Adele Abu el hosn I was born in Mexico and moved to Lebanon at the age of 9. I was 17 when I got married and 19 when I lost my husband in the war.
I wanted to finish my education since then, so I tried to go back to school but the principal decided that my age and my marital status did not fit the school requirements.
In 2004, I came to Canada with my son to start a new life. Now my son is going to university next September and I am at the Cunard Learning Centre, in Level II of the Adult Learning Program.
First, I'd like to thank my teachers for being so helpful and supportive. This program, it's going to change my life. I can tell my future is going to be better. I have the feeling that I will be a success.
I really want to say thank you so much for everybody who is supporting this program, because there is a lot of people like me, they would like to finish their education and they don't have the opportunity, especially if they are from another countries.
This program, which is going to change my life and hundreds of peoples live whether they are from here or from out of this country. Our education is going to make our future stronger and brighter. We will have more confidence and we will be better prepared to support our families and our kids.
I want to get my high school diploma, to go to university, and start learning to become a pharmacist.
