Sharon's Story
Sharon Cunningham – Guysborough County Adult Learning Association

Hello, my name is Sharon Cunningham, and I'm 54 years of age and proud of it. I have been blessed with two beautiful sons, who are my pride and joy. Craig is my oldest son, now married to a wonderful person and has a precious son that God has blessed them with.

As for me, one obstacle in my life was finding out I had Epilepsy first, then Diabetes. It was hard to get used to it at first, but once I knew how to handle the situation it became easy as pie. There are other obstacles in my life such as finding transportation, education, and funding.

The benefit of learning has affected me in a number of ways. I have made new friends through the course. Believing in myself that I can demonstrate the way I feel, and how to write out an essay but not repeat the words. I would like to know more about the computer, as in Indenting.

My goal in life is to find a decent job that can help me out and pays equal wages, also I like to socialize with people, and not be put down by any co-workers, in any work situation that I don't understand. Also, I would like to try new things in jobs I take in the near future.
