CASSIE HUMBER, with daughter BERNIE HANLON Cassie talks about her father, Louis John. "He killed a moose or a caribou when he was 16, with a rock. It was on a Sunday and you weren't allowed to carry a gun on a Sunday. His father would give him a lickin' if he caught him with a gun. His father came and asked him where was the gun. He said, I never had no gun.' Pop was a trapper, he was a guide, he took a good many people Englishmen, Americans. I remember Mom telling me Pop worked down in the slash mill. That was around 1909, whenever the mill opened. |
