A River of Why

Today I went to a river
As I sit by this river
And watch the water run
I could see a reflection
Appearing in the water
As I stare into the water
The reflection came closer

The closer it got
The harder I stare
As soon as I got close enough
The reflection I saw was you

Your reflection in the river
You were looking at me
With tears in your eyes
Then as I moved closer
Suddenly you were gone
And I wonder why

This is a river
A river of why
