5. Process is Time-Consuming
Some pairs felt that it took a lot of time and effort to complete the
first questions. This can be viewed either positively or negatively
depending on whether the Progress Profile is seen as integral
to the learning process.
6. Cost of the Tool is High
Although individual kits are relatively inexpensive, the cost of
providing enough kits for use in programs is very high, especially for
larger programs.
7. Needs of Aboriginal and ESL Students Not
Addressed
Some programs commented that the culture and needs of aboriginal and
English as a Second Language students are not reflected in this tool.
This is a concern for Alberta programs which enrol substantial numbers
of both aboriginal and ESL students.
