As a result of distance, the reference group met face-to-face only once. However, thanks to the Ontario Literacy Communications Network (AlphaCom) and the hard work and loyalty of these individuals, we were able to have effective communication on a regular basis using distance learning technology.

Rosemary Rognvaldson, my colleague in the OBS Literacy Program at Conestoga College, joined the project team for the writing of the manual, supplying the necessary curricular ideas and energy at a critical time.

Thanks also, and perhaps especially, to my family for supporting me and putting up with my frequent lack of availability during this intense work period.
