Maternity* clothes are very expensive.
You may not wear them again!
- Buy just a few big shirts and some stretch
pants.
- Ask your family and friends if they have
maternity* clothes you can borrow.
- Buy second hand maternity clothes.
Be careful about:
- Eating junk food all the time. Everything you eat and drink is
passed to the baby.
- Drinking too much caffeine - coffee, tea, coke.
- Taking extra vitamins to make up for poor eating habits.
- Tight clothes around your waist and tummy; socks or
pantyhose with tight elastic tops; tight shoes.
- Straining during bowel movements.*
- Gaining too much weight. Take a walk everyday.
- You may lose your balance more easily as your belly grows.
Be careful about slipping and falling - in the
bath, on slippery floors, from ladders.
Don't wear high heels or loose shoes and sandals
that can make you trip, twist your ankle, or fall.
