The Rabbit and the Carrots

By: Jenny

Rabbit hopped across the field with thoughts of carrots dancing in his head. It was lunch time and he had decided today was the day to visit the carrot patch. Rabbit had finally found the courage to go to Mr. Crab’s garden. Mr. Crab took great pride in his garden and had many traps and gadgets set to keep rabbits away but Rabbit had a plan. He…

… decided to jump over the traps. He hopped to the middle of the garden where the farmer couldn’t see him. And there he feasted on carrots. Then the farmer came out and saw Rabbit. He put Rabbit out of the garden. Rabbit really didn’t mind because he was full. And the farmer was happy because Rabbit was gone.

He wiggles his nose and looks both ways as he crawls under the fence. Keeping his ears up, he listens for danger. He runs really fast to get the carrots in the garden. Rabbit eats them there, getting fatter and fatter. Then he has to hide until night time because he is sleepy from a full tummy.

The Rabbit Story

He jumped over the garden fence at lunch time. He looked around him. Mr. Crab had set a net to trap big, hungry rabbits. He went to the trap and he chewed the net, so that it wouldn’t fall down on him. Then he jumped through the net and went to the vegetable patch. He found two nice, juicy carrots to bring home. He crunched them up, went to bed and had a good nap.
