In 2008, International Adult Learners’ Week in Canada will be celebrated from March 3 through 9. Officially marked internationally for the first time in 2000, and launched in Canada in 2002, the Week is now observed in more than 40 countries. Events in small and large communities around the world celebrate adult learners and recognize the importance of education in all its forms as the road to individual empowerment and the gateway to achieving the universal goals of equality and peace.
