COMMON COLD -
A cold is a common illness that happens to all of
us. With a cold you can have a cough and a sore runny nose. It can make you
feel so tired that you really don't feel like doing anything. You should never
be scared about getting a common cold.
We all get colds at one time or
another and we usually get them from other people (from germs that float in the
air that you can't see) or sometimes from yucky weather. You should take plenty
of liquids like fruit juices, milk and water, get plenty of rest and take some
drug store bought medicines and cough syrup that your mom or dad will get for
you. This is a good time to do some reading or to watch a bit of TV while
you're getting better.

CONCUSSION - A concussion can happen when someone or something hits your head too hard. What happens is
the brain tissue inside becomes bruised and there may be some bleeding that
might happen inside the head. Your symptoms might include being unconscious
(it's like going to sleep for awhile), vomiting, loss of memory and not being
able to walk. Like the bruise on your leg or arm, the bruise on your brain will
often go away in time. Anytime that you receive a serious concussion, someone
should take you immediately to a hospital for treatment.
