New AACE Board Member - Maureen Motter-Hodgson

Maureen is a native Albertan who has been employed in the field of adult education for the past fifteen years. Following a short career as a Junior High School English teacher, she joined the YWCA as a Personal and Professional Program Coordinator and became an AACE member at that time. She looks forward to serving on the AACE Board and renewing friendships with AACE members.

Maureen worked as the Program Director of Arts in the Faculty of Continuing Education and Extension at Mount Royal College from 1983 to 1991. Since leaving MRC, she has been selfemployed as an educational consultant which has provided her with the opportunity to pursue contract work at the University of Calgary (teaching in the Certificate in Adult Learning) and MRC (conducting 'train the trainer' workshops on such topics as learning styles and effective teaching techniques), and most recently, with the Calgary Board of Education as a Training Program Designer.

Maureen has a M.Ed. in Adult and Community Education from the University of Calgary and a B.Ed. from the University of Alberta. Her special areas of interest include staff development and training, utilizing focus group methodology in needs assessment and evaluation, and time management.
