AACE/ADETA FALL WORKSHOP "Creating and Thriving
in a Global Learning Environment"

What?
In a global learning environment, we are rapidly reshaping the way we learn. The Alberta Association for Continuing Education and the Association for Distance Education and Training in Alberta invite you to discover how we can achieve success, form partnerships in learning, and best utilize learning resources in order to meet the growing and changing needs of adult learners.

Keynote Speaker will be Stephen Murgatroyd, Executive Director of Athabasca's Centre for Innovative Management, who will describe two initiatives that seek to create global learning environments: Athabasca University's Master of Business Administration (the largest executive development program in Canada), and the Global Innovation Village (a not for profit venture aimed at sharing and exchanging innovations, ideas and skills with not for profit organizations across Canada).

Session Presenters will include: Katy Campbell and Rick Roder on instructional design; John Fisher on student support networks; Grant Kayler on libraries as partners in the development and delivery of learning; Dave Trautman on technological myths, assumptions, and teaching practices; Fran Ross on marketing courses and courseware; and Clayton Wright on provincial advisory committees for distance education.

Panel Discussion entitled "Putting Talk Into Action" will wrap the day up.
