USE YOUR CONNECTION TO STAY CONNECTED

This generation of children is entertained by the massive technology. From high speed internet to the X-BOXs and Playstations, some children are more inclined to pick up a game controller rather than a book. This doesn't mean that children cannot read a book. There are websites that have entire books right on the Internet. With the click of the mouse, a child can read page after page of stories. When they are finished reading, they can book mark their page for the next time they are connected. The following sites offer online books FREE of charge!!

NEED VOLUNTEERS?

In addition to the local cable channel, the internet can also be used as a tool for recruiting volunteers. The Community Services Council (CSC) has an online volunteer registry. You can use this site to advertise your need for a volunteer, or to see a list of volunteers. In a few months, a site like this will be established for Western Newfoundland.
