Welcome

Family Literacy Day ~January 2003
Corner Brook On January 27th, Books
for Babies® held a Family Literacy Day event at the local Dominion store.
Children could choose a book to take home with them from a number of titles
including: award winning The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats
The Hat by Jan Brett The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
The Jacket I Wear in the Snow by Shirley Neitzel Animal's
A to Z by David McPhail
Families who visited the Community Room were invited to stay to
read with their children and to join in the cake-cutting at noon. Many parents
took the opportunity to spend quality one-on-one time with their child.
In the afternoon, children were invited to story time at the
public library.
Congratulations to all prize winners! Winners from Massey Drive,
Corner Brook, Benoit's Cove, and Deer Lake received mugs, crayons, colouring
books, story books, and Family Literacy Day t-shirts.
Special Thanks to Corner Brook's Fairway
Honda for donating books and to Dominion for providing space for us
to host the event and for donating a delicious cake!
