by Carol Arnold-Schutta

WELCOME JEANNA!
Community Programs would like to welcome Jeanna Baty for a one-year secondment with the Branch. We are delighted to have her as part of the team! Jeanna brings with her a wealth of experience. Her background includes a Masters in Adult Education (program design and facilitation) from St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish; 12 years with the Alberta government; 9 years with a university; and 7 years as the Executive Director of a not-for-profit community agency. Jeanna's expertise in adult education and the not-for-profit sector will be a valuable addition to the Community Programs Branch.

GROUP INSURANCE
We now have a group insurance plan for all Councils and literacy programs that are legal entities (societies). Those of you who indicated to Colleen Crickmore that you were interested in insurance should have received a letter and form to indicate officially your willingness to join. For everyone else, I will be sending out a letter to all in the late fall or early winter with the information. If you are interested in joining the plan NOW, please give me a call. If you have any questions about the actual policy, please contact Bryan Robinson at 1-800-465-4514 or 424-7287 for Edmonton calls. Bryan Robinson has informed me that the broker for the group insurance plan is Royal and Sun Alliance. Their website is at http://www.royalsunalliance.ca/rsa.
