LLC Biennial Conference

The Distributorship will have an extensive array of books on display at the Biennial Conference in Winnipeg this coming May. We look forward to seeing both old and new friends there!

Budget News

On February 18 the Federal Government released its 1997 budget. A seven million dollar increase to the National Literacy Secretariat (NLS) budget was announced. This represents and increase of over thirty percent to the NLS budget.

The Honourable Joyce Fairbairn, P.C., Minister with special responsibility for Literacy, applauded the literacy measures in the budget, saying "workplace and family literacy will be targeted for assistance as a result of resources announced."
