Happy 10th Anniversary, Minto!

A cakeThe year 2000 is a special one for the Minto Literacy Council. Formed on March 17th, 1990, the council is celebrating ten years of literacy work in the village of Minto, NB. A number of events are being hosted by the council throughout the year to recognize this achievement.

During volunteer week in April, all past and present members were invited to a volunteer appreciation night hosted by the council executive. Activities included a "Wheel of Knowledge" game created by one of our members. The "Wheel of Knowledge" also made an appearance during the Year 2000 High School Reunion in July, where residents and non-residents were given an opportunity to spin the wheel, play for prizes, and learn more about the activities of the Minto Literacy Council. Plans are being made for other activities for the fall season.

For more information on future activities or how you can become involved in literacy efforts in the Minto and Grand Lake area, call Jane Wasson at 506-327-3926 (evenings).
