To celebrate the International Year of Volunteers, Laubach Literacy New Brunswick launched a new initiative to honour its volunteers, past and present, who have contributed significantly to the growth and development of Laubach Literacy New Brunswick (LLNB) and/or its member councils. The "LLNB Volunteer Hall of Fame" was unveiled at the Annual General Meeting of Laubach Literacy New Brunswick on October 13, 2001, with many of the inaugural inductees in attendance. Each of Laubach's twenty-two councils along with the Executive Committee were invited to submit nominations for the Volunteer Hall of Fame.
