President's Message
Benjamin Franklin Now that the summer vacation season is over it is time for students, parents, teachers and other educators to get back in gear for another school year. It also means the return to normal routines and perhaps new possibilities for New Brunswickers with LD who are no longer in the student role! Your provincial Association is also gearing up to continue our work in advocacy, public education, and support to New Brunswickers with Learning Disabilities. LDANB/TAANB has worked on a number of projects this year including participation in the:
Our Annual Spring Conference was also a great success in spite of the surprise storm and we received excellent reviews from the participants. LDANB extends our sincere thanks to the T. R. Meighen Family Foundation, the Departments of Education, Family and Community Services, Health, and Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour, and the Fredericton Community Foundation their generous support of our efforts. Everyone benefits from these partnerships because these educational sessions provide necessary support to persons with Learning Disabilities, their family, teachers and our community. We also had a lot of fun with our Love & Lobster Draw and express our gratitude to Hazen Boyd of the Quoddy Bay Fish Market for providing the crustaceans! We are ringing in the beginning of a new school year and LDANB/TAANB is marking 37 years of service and advocacy for New Brunswickers with Learning Disabilities. We continue to appreciate the support of our members and welcome your participation in strengthening our Association! Kathrin Pader President, LDANB |
