| Reflexions Summer 2008 Été |
President's MessageI am thrilled and honoured to have become President of the Board of Directors of the Learning Disabilities Association of New Brunswick at its Annual General Meeting on June 7, 2008. I accepted this position knowing that my greatest challenge would be to maintain the standard of excellence created by our outgoing President, Kathrin Pader. LDANB is faced with both challenges and opportunities in the coming year. The establishment of the New Brunswick arm of the LINKS - Linking Language to Learning program will allow our families and educators to tap into a resource with proven methods of impacting early identification, prevention and remediation of reading disorders. Upcoming consultations regarding the plan for French Immersion studies in our province will have direct implications for students with learning disabilities, and our Board will play a role in ensuring that the spirit of inclusive education is maintained. We continue to seek ways to fund the installation of an Executive Director for our organization, enhancing the services we provide to individuals with learning disabilities. I am excited about the potential for growth and development in the years ahead, and will seek opportunities to meet and consult with members of our provincial community – learners, families, educators and policymakers – in order to move forward with an agenda of evidence-based practice, programs and supports. ![]()
