New LDAC Policy on
Educational Accommodations

After 3 years of review by numerous experts in the field, LDA Canada adopted a Policy on the Educational
Accommodations for Individuals with Learning Disabilities (www.ldac-taac.ca/right_to_learn/rtl-e.asp) at its last Annual General Meeting, June 12, 2007. It was developed to provide guidelines to Ministries of Education, school districts, teachers, post secondary institutions, parents and individuals with learning disabilities. It is meant to assist in policy development, administration, selection and evaluations of accommodations for instructions and assessment of students with learning disabilities. The policy applies to all educational programming including pre-school, elementary, secondary, post-secondary and post-graduate education as well as professional licensing and apprenticeship tests and examinations.

We encourage you to sign the petition calling on the Governments of Canada to support the Learning Disabilities Association of Canada's (LDAC) new Policy on Educational Accommodations for Individuals with Learning Disabilities. You will find it at - http://www.righttolearn.ca
