What is the learner network?

The New Brunswick Learner Network (NBLN) gives an active voice to adult learners attending Community Academic Services Programs (CASPs). Students who have been out of the program three years or less may also participate.

The purpose of the network, in collaboration with the Literacy Coalition of New Brunswick (LCNB), is to:

  • help strengthen the voice of the adult learner
  • help learners develop leadership skills
  • help LCNB take a learner-based position on literacy.

Three students actively involved in the network and who show keen interest can be invited to become learner representatives to the Literacy Coalition of New Brunswick. One learner from the Literacy Coalition will attend meetings of the Learner Advisory Network in Ottawa.

Learner network seeks new president - a message from Greg Clark

Fellow students: At the Literacy Coalition’s board meeting in April, I will be stepping down as President of the New Brunswick Learner Network. Some of the duties I have had in this position include:

  • Attending board meetings of the Literacy Coalition
  • Meeting with politicians
  • Advocating for literacy programs and better conditions for teachers
  • Attending Literacy Action Day on Parliament Hill
  • Attending Learners Action Network meetings with the Movement for Canadian Literacy in Ottawa.

This is a very exciting opportunity to learn, to travel and to represent learners. I wish the new President a lot of success. Sincerely, Greg Clark.
