    Six hundred people turned out to the Literacy Coalition of New Brunswick’s Family Fun Day in Fredericton in celebration of Family Literacy Day on Saturday, January 26, 2013. The Leo Hayes High School gym was packed with families and friends enjoying books, learning activities and games.

    As a part of PGI’s for Literacy - NB 2011, Docbraces held their annual Children’s Art and Literacy Contest. The 2011 theme was “My Favorite Story Book”. Children were encouraged to write a story or draw a picture explaining why their favourite book is so special to them.

    The Goguen Champlain Learner Achievement Award is presented to three outstanding adult learners, as part of the annual Peter Gzowski Invitational (PGI) Golf Tournament for Literacy activities.

    IALW will take place in Canada during the week of April 2-9, 2011. The Literacy Coalition of New Brunswick hosted a writing and video contest, Lifelong Learning: The Future of New Brunswick, in celebration of IALW. Each winner’s story will be featured one day of International Adult Learners Week.
