Message from the Chair

Another annual general meeting has come and gone. We would like to thank all of our member organizations for their support and interest during the last year. We look forward to the challenges that lie ahead.

We would also like to thank Canada Post for its support of literacy initiatives here and across the country. This year, the stories of the Canada Post Literacy Award winners were no less compelling than in the past. These individuals inspire everyone who meets them. They are from all walks of life and have met and overcome life’s biggest challenges. They’ve done it with grace, dignity and support from family, friends and community groups like ours.

The Alliance is now settling in for a busy winter. It seems the work is endless but the staff manage it with patience and good humor.

I hope all who read this have recovered from the most recent “storm of the century” with a minimum of damage and inconvenience. Now, on to Christmas!
