PEI Literacy Alliance Grants

Department of Education Presentation

Mildred Dover, (left) Minister of Education presents the Atomic Energy of Canada bursary to Amanda Carr. This award goes to a person who passed the GED tests the first time around and was accepted into a post-secondary science related program. Amanda was accepted into the Veterinary Administrative Assistant program.

Also that night the Provincial Apprenticeship Board received a plaque for innovative learning opportunities for trades people. The Workplace Education Committee at Cavendish Farms received a plaque for establishing a learning centre at the plant, hiring a teacher and providing time for employees to upgrade, prepare for GED tests, etc.
