Good Job Eliot River Elementary!

Eliot River Elementary sponsored a Literacy and Reading for Fun campaign that included a one million minute Reading for Fun challenge.

The children reached the reading target and their prize was watching their principal Gene MacDonald have his head shaved.

Other events included publication of the Eliot River Chronicles, a student newspaper that included literacy items.

One day they had a Drop Everything and Read event where everyone from students to the school janitor took 1/2 an hour to get comfortable and read.

As a wrap-up event parents were invited to a science-fair style book fair presented by the students.
