Workplace Education-PEI

Workplace Education-PEI is an organization that provides opportunities for employees to increase their essential workplace skills. It also encourages application of these skills at work, at home and in the community.

A Workplace Education Field Officer assesses the company’s needs. At the same time, the officer determines the needs of the employees. There is no charge for the assessment.

Workplace Education-PEI develops the curriculum using printed material from the workplace, so no two workplace education programs are the same. These programs are traditionally held at the work site and the class size is limited to 12 participants. The program is implemented and monitored by an on site project team representing employees, management and union.

Workplace education programs are found in a number of companies across the Island including Seaman’s Beverages, Royal Star Foods and Cavendish Figurines/Micmac Productions.

For more information about workplace education programs contact: Karen Chandler or Ruth Rogerson, 902-368-6280 (Queens or Kings County) Gaelyne MacAulay, 902-888-8022 (Prince County)
