Literacy Action Day
Representatives from the literacy community across Canada met in Ottawa on Thursday, February 18 to mark Literacy Action Day (LAD).

The event, organized annually by the Movement for Canadian Literacy (MCL), is intended to raise awareness about literacy at the government level and to carry on productive dialogue with our Federal politicians.

This year's LAD was very successful in that more than 90 politicians and officials participated by meeting with representatives from the literacy community. This represents a strong foundation on which to build a better understanding of literacy. It will also help us to reshape thinking and work with politicians and officials to reshape policy.
