LEARNERS IN ACTION October 2000

Every year on International Literacy Day, Canada Post presents their awards to educators, community groups, businesses and individuals (learners) for their work on behalf of literacy. For the individuals / learners who receive the award it is recognition of the enormous efforts they have made to educate themselves and to work for other learners.

They are all our heroes. We congratulate them and name the English winners of the Canada Post Individual Achievement Award by their Province or Territory:

Calling all learners!
(Get your tutor to help)

Learners in ACTION would like to feature learner profiles each issue.

Your story could include:

  • something about yourself
  • your learning history
  • what got you back to school
  • who helped
  • how your life has changed because of literacy
  • and any other interesting details

Please keep it short (a page or less) and include your name, phone number and email address if you have one.

We would like to hear from learners from all over Canada.
