Learner's Story

This poem was written by Garrett Bull Child, from Edmonton, Alberta. Garrett has lived in Edmonton for thirteen years. He moved there with his mother Delphine King. He also worked a few different jobs. Garrett decided he wasn’t finished learning, so now he attends the Learning Centre in Edmonton. He is improving his reading and writing. He also likes doing math.

HOPE
by Garrett Bull Child

When fall comes, the geese
and ducks go South. A beautiful
white snow
comes down and freezes the lake.
You see some kids skiing in, playing
around,
playing hockey. Spring comes.
All the ice is melting and all the geese
and ducks come back.
