Learner's Story

This story was written by Abdel-Majid Bourini, from Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Majid came to Canada from Jordan eight months ago to be with his wife who is from Yorkton. He misses his beautiful country and the warm sunny days. Majid likes his life in Canada but also misses his family.

Weather
by Abdel-Majid Bourini

I came from hot weather to very cold weather.
But when I came to Canada, I came in summer. That’s why I didn’t know it could get so cold.
The winter here is very cold and long.
I came when the land was green and the grass was long.
I came from Jordan.
