Recognition of Fanshawe College and Founding Members of NALD

On May 9th of this year, a small ceremony was held at Fanshawe College, in London, Ontario. Fanshawe was the original home of NALD, which was founded in 1989. During the recognition ceremony, NALD acknowledged Fanshawe College as well as the founding members and original NALD staff for their contributions to the organization. Fanshawe was presented with a commemorative plaque in recognition of the College as the first home of NALD. In the photo that shows the plaque, are the original Board of Directors - from the left : Bill Day, Former President of Douglas College; Bert Curtis, Former President of Centennial College; Linda Shohet, Executive Director of the Centre for Literacy of Quebec; Barry Moore, Former President of Fanshawe College. Absent when the picture was taken : Dale Landry, President of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).
