Library Quilt
Diane Ramsey with the Library Quilt

This lovely and unique quilt was handcrafted by Diane Ramsey, wife of Charles Ramsey, Executive Director of NALD. Diane succeeded in creating a very realistic portrayal of a library with this Library Quilt, which looks like a bookcase on the wall. The quilt has the acronyms of some of the major literacy organizations in Canada, stitched on some of the books. The quilt, a traditional New Brunswick handicraft, harmonizes very well with Scovil House, the home of NALD. Scovil House is a Queen Anne Revival style building that was built in 1910, and named after a school superintendent whose home it once was. Shown in the photo, is Diane with her masterpiece.
