Tips for Teachers - Using Newspapers in Class

Work on Current Events with newpapers - Compare the issues in different countries or in different provinces, and discuss how each place is working to solve the problems, why each place has certain problems, as well as similarities between the issues.

Also, try to train students in critical reading, since newspapers are not neutral materials. They have a definite point of view on what they offer and how they offer it. Some groups in society are clearly misrepresented, while others are overrepresented.
