Charting a New Course (1998)

A report of the Ocean of Learning, Nova Scotia Community Learning Initiative (CLI) - Practitioners Forum, which took place in April 1998. CLI is a province-wide program that provides funding, practitioner training and support to 27 community-based Learning Networks. In turn, these networks offer a wide variety of literacy and upgrading opportunities which target every segment of our society.

Preparing for Technological Change - Final Report (1998)

Information Needs and Strategies of Canadians with Lower Literacy Skills (1997)
Revenue Canada

A report which keys in on the findings of the International Adult Literacy Survey and reviews "coping strategies" used by those Canadians to deal with departments such as Revenue Canada (e.g., filling out income tax returns) and large institutions such as banks. The report is one part of Revenue Canada's ongoing effort to improve its services to Canadians with lower levels of literacy.

Play-Making : A Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners (1997)
Project Literacy Victoria

A how-to book that sets out step-by-step the process used to write, rehearse and perform the play, "Just Plain Nuts - No Offense," which was staged by three learners from Project Literacy Victoria. The project was designed to illustrate the emotional problems experienced by reaming disabled children with low literacy skills.
