Learning to Say NO (1998) A resource guide for women with Learning
Disabilities (LD). Contains excellent information on self-help
approaches: skills for identifying workplace harassment, developing
communication and assertiveness skills, valuable information on
identification of LD and its impact and advice on strategies to
compensate. Pronunciation Pairs (1998) A comprehensive course to help students recognize
and pronounce the individual sounds of English and to differentiate
sounds they often confuse. Includes a variety of exercises and
activities, provides practise in pronunciation of individual sounds as
well as stress and intonation. Teacher's manual contains extended
activities and suggestions. Oakland Readers (1998) A series of four books for new readers, written at
reading levels 1 to 4 respectively. Each series contains stories told
by seven to eight learners about their lives, covering such topics as
being on welfare, racism, family relationships, and teenage pregnancy.
Provides excellent supplemental reading for students. Grandfather Bear -- A Story told in Cree

(1996) Presents a humorous collection of short stories which describe what it is like to be a woman living with a disability. Good Stuff (1997) Meant for the adult who is a new or rusty reader. A
mixture of stories that are fresh, some of them true. A hint of
self-help is in here too. You will find poems with pizazz. Word

Newfoundland's Remote Railway Settlements (1936-1942)
(1997) A detailed account of the School on Wheels program,
from its beginnings in 1936 through to its discontinuance in 1942.,
