The idea this year is to base LAD on an appeal from the literacy community in each province and territory to the MPs and Senators who represent them in Ottawa. Each provincial/territorial "team" will identify the literacy issues and/or opportunities important to their communities, and the politicians it makes sense to meet with. Teams may decide to bring a standard message to all their provincial/territorial politicians, or might bring specific local messages to selected representatives. Discussions will focus on practical things that can be done to promote literacy. |
