They do not have the skills to cope with unfamiliar and more complex reading materials. The reading skills of 16% of Canadian adults are too limited to allow them to deal with the majority of written materials encountered in everyday life. ABC CANADA

Foresters Helping Students LearnA READ bursary provides ten months of one-to-one instruction in basic reading, writing, math and study skills for a child in financial need who is struggling to learn. Forty six students have received READ bursaries this year. However, we still have a lengthy waitlist. Some of the children have been waiting for a year! Please consider donating to the READ Bursary Fund. Your gift of $40 will buy one hour of one-to-one instruction for a student receiving bursary assistance.
