Refresh and RenewOur first week back after March Break, we spent a week of refreshing and renewing. It was great. We had guest speakers come in and we even had a couple of field trips. We learned a lot about budgeting and got some help from Carolynne Gula with menu planning on a budget. Marilyn Duncalfe came in to give us some pointers about dressing for success on a budget. We had a workshop on Living with Diabetes with Nancy Muller, who is a wealth of information. We went to the Rec Centre to spend a great afternoon with Nancy Phillips. She demonstrated the benefits of Yoga & Meditation. It was very relaxing and informative. Rhona Karschti took us through some tips on building our Self Esteem while Kim Kehoe talked to us about the importance of Dental Hygiene. Beading was a rewarding experience with Lorraine Meekis and Stress Management was an invaluable workshop with Janette Harapiak. We had a well versed presentation and slides with Doug Gilmore, introducing us to the Woodland Caribou Provincial Park. We then wrapped up the week with a guided tour and Shop Off at the IGA It was a great way to start off the first week back and it truly was refreshing and renewing. Computer ClassWe are almost finished the Intro to Computer class that is going on now, and we are going right into the next one on April 20th. We have such a great lot of students, so eager and interested. It is great to see children learn, but nothing like watching an adult master something they thought was out of their reach.
